April 2001
Dear Friends,
Ever since renaming
the ministry from Rapha Retreats to Healing for the Nations, we
have seen God consistently expand our "borders." By borders,
we mean the influence of HFN's message in a host of cultures in
many continents. Here are snapshots of what has been happening around
the world:
HFN
to France
In February of this year, we conducted our first event in France.
Steve and Rujon were invited to hold a church conference there.
This has been a desire of Steve's for many years. They were warmly
received and God did many exciting and great things. They will return
April 20th to conduct a week-long retreat for the leadership of
that church. It's our prayer that God continues to open doors in
that great country.
HFN
to Russia
Steve Hammond returned for the third year in a row to teach in a
Youth With A Mission Discipleship Training School in Moscow. He
focused on “Choosing Life,” a week-long series that
contains some of the HFN Retreat material and followed the book
of Ephesians. Steve reports that the students, who came from three
nations, are preparing for missions outreach soon to some remote
parts of Russia. Having a grounding in “who they are in Christ”
served as a great preparation for these missionaries-in-training.
HFN
to Switzerland
In August 2000, we conducted a retreat for primarily German participants
in Einigen, Switzerland. Once again, God chose a beautiful setting
to do extraordinary things in the lives of His children.
HFN
to Germany
We are excited to announce our first conference followed by a week-long
retreat to be held next summer in beautiful southern Germany. We
are excited about this because there is a very real possibility
of forming a team there to do retreats and conferences. We have
already been meeting with some very special friends who would head
the ministry up there.
HFN
in The Netherlands
Our Dutch team continues to hold retreats twice a year. The reports
coming back are that God continues to amaze the team by doing all
that He does in one week's time. We praise God for our Dutch brothers
and sisters who are channels for God's healing in that wonderful
country.
HFN
in the United Kingdom
Things are exploding in England for the HFN ministry there with
church conferences, retreats, and linking up with some key organizations
to help in the mission of bringing healing to that great country.
We are so thankful for our team there who have persevered in their
endeavor to bring healing to the UK.
HFN
in India
We are very excited to announce that we are partnering with a minister
in India in his endeavor to disciple and train Christian leaders.
Because of the persecution there, he will remain anonymous. This
man of God cares for 35 pastors, their families, churches, and has
also taken on the burden of training them as well as other Christians
from around the country.
We are in the process of helping build a discipleship and training
center of which Steve and Rujon are trustees. When the center is
built, it will be a strategic channel for bringing healing, discipling
and training to our brothers and sisters in that great country.

HFN
International Leaders Meeting
In February, we had our first international leaders meeting with
representatives from the Netherlands, the UK, Germany, Scotland
(UK team) and the US. It was held at Littledale Hall where the HFN
retreats began while Steve and Rujon were in England back in 1991.
It was a historic and precious time for all as we considered the
mission of HFN once again which has not changed the past decade.

Women's Conference held at Hope Presbyterian in Memphis
In February of this year, we conducted a church conference at Hope
Presbyterian Church in Memphis, Tennessee. It was a phenomenal success
with over seven hundred women attending the conference. Reports
are still coming back of all that God did and is continuing to do
since the conference.

Ordination of Steve Morrison
December 2nd of last year, one of our founders and directors, Steve
Morrison was ordained to the Sacred Order of Priests in the Communion
of Evangelical Episcopal Churches (CEEC). While the retreats will
remain non-denominational, as they always have been, this is a very
significant milestone for Steve in his journey.

HFN Monthly Retreats Continue
We continue to see
God's healing power in a mighty way every month at the Intensive
retreats. With people coming from all over the country and around
the globe, the majority of our ongoing efforts target this once
a month (USA) event. We are so grateful to God for all that He continues
to do.

HFN Women Group To Be Announced
Since there are
so many people in the Atlanta area who have attended the retreats,
we will be starting a women's HFN group to be held in our Marietta
offices. Once the schedule is determined, we will announce it on
our website.

God bless!

Steve and Rujon Morrison
and the HFN team
